Dunst blasts fans who doubt her Debbie

KIRSTEN DUNST has defended herself against claims that she is the wrong choice to play pop siren Debbie Harry in a new movie.
Blondie fans have blogged and moaned that Dunst isn't edgy, sexy or tuneful enough to portray their idol, whose stunning looks led her to be compared with Marilyn Monroe.
But the Spider-Man and Marie Antoinette star, 24, has hit back, saying: "Debbie chose me for this role so anyone who disputes this can take it up with her."
She has already met up with Harry and said they "hit it off". Now Dunst vows: "I'll work hard on this character because she is the coolest woman of all time."
The musical drama is to feature Blondie's biggest hits, including The Tide Is High, Atomic and Heart Of Glass, although it is not known if these will be the originals or re-recordings by Dunst.
Before becoming one of the biggest pop stars of the late Seventies and early Eighties, Harry, now 61, worked as a Playboy bunny.
She went on to form a band called Angel And The Snakes but she changed their name after catcalls from truck drivers who would shout out at the platinum blonde in the street: "Hey, blondie!"
